Thunderbolt Two – Adaptability. Performance. Bandwidth.
The innovative 10Gbps Thunderbolt interface provided revolutionary bandwidth for peripheral expansion, more than adequate to support the all-out performance of most PCIe cards. However, some high bandwidth adaptors such as the BlueFish 444 Epoch 4K Neutron video I/O card or other bandwidth-hungry cards require more than 10Gbps. Thunderbolt 2 eliminates this wall by offering more bandwidth for challenging applications.
20Gbps Thunderbolt Two Interface
Echo Express SEL features 20Gbps Thunderbolt Two which delivers abundant bandwidth for some of the most challenging, highest performance PCIe cards. It also includes support for the DisplayPort 1.2 protocol which permits video streaming to a 4K video monitor. While the SEL brings maximum performance when linked to a computer with Thunderbolt 2 ports, it is also completely compatible with computers with 10Gbps Thunderbolt, supporting most cards at full-performance.
ThunderLok + Thunderbolt Two Cable – Included At No Additional Charge
Sonnet Tech includes a 1-metre Thunderbolt Two cable and a Sonnet Tech ThunderLok Thunderbolt connector retainer clip to sidestep unintentional cable withdrawals —simply slide it over one end of the cable and then plug in the connector and secure it to the chassis by rotating a thumbscrew. Because of its innovative design, ThunderLok stays on the cable so it won’t get misplaced when not utilised.
Echo Express SEL has been created to be ultra-quiet so that it can work easily in noise-sensitive situations. The airflow path within the chassis has been specifically planned to allow the temperature-controlled, adjustable speed fan to silently and proficiently cool the fitted card at all times, even throughout peak operation.
Intended For Low-Profile PCIe Cards
Echo Express SEL supports one half-length (up to 16.8 cms long), low-profile, single-width PCIe card; PCIe 1.1, PCIe 2.0 and PCIe 3.0 cards are also supported.
Smart Design and Auto Power
Made of tough and lightweight aluminum, Echo Express SEL firmly houses the installed PCIe card. Inside, the card is protected through the utilisation of a variable-speed, temperature-controlled fan which makes sure that the card and chassis’ workings stay dependably cool. The inside fan robotically speeds up as needed to cool the fitted card when it’s hot and slows down when it’s cool. Subsequently, Echo Express products robotically power on and off with your computer, so there is no power switch on the chassis, guaranteeing that you won’t waste energy by leaving it running.
Almost Every Thunderbolt-Compatible, Low-Profile PCIe Card Maintained
The Echo Express SEL houses an extensive assortment of PCIe cards. Do you have a card in mind but aren’t sure it’s companionable? Sonnet Tech has organised a list of supporting PCIe Card Thunderbolt Compatibility Chart (PDF). There you’ll find cards acknowledged as compliant to Thunderbolt technology requirements and ordered by fit and power compatibility with specific expansion systems.
Complimentary Lifetime Tech Support
Sonnet Tech was established in Irvine, California in 1986. Since then, they’ve established and brought to market many ground-breaking and award-winning products that enhance the performance and connectivity of Mac, Windows and other industry-standard computers. Many of their employees (including engineers) have been with the company for more than 20 years (some have been there since the commencement). They have a wealth of knowledge about their current and past products. Should you ever require technical support on one of their products, contact them; they’ll be able to assist you.
Thunderbolt Two Connectivity
Over its x8 PCIe 2.0 slot, this little expansion system supports many low-profile PCIe cards (including 16Gb and 8Gb Fibre Channel, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, SAS and SATA host bus adapters and RAID controllers) and attaches to your computer over a solitary Thunderbolt Two cable.
1-Slot Thunderbolt Two Desktop Expansion System For Low-Profile PCIe Cards
This system allows you to attach a low-profile PCIe card to computers with Thunderbolt 2 ports. Unfortunately although ultra-light notebooks, small form factor and all-in-one Mac, Windows and Linux computers are slender marvels of engineering, they also come with a cost—there’s nowhere to connect PCIe cards that offer extra connectivity and processing proficiencies. Sonnet Tech’s Echo™ Express SEL is a compacted, desktop Thunderbolt™ Two to PCIe card expansion system that fixes that problem, allowing you to attach a low-profile PCIe card to any computer with Thunderbolt Two ports.
